A care center for working and at-risk children, designed through a service-oriented approach to create a space where children can learn, grow, rebuild their connection to life, and heal from past trauma. The designed model shifts from “mere care” toward preparing children for independent living and reintegration into society. Direct engagement with children, families, and local centers revealed deep-rooted issues, leading to a transformation from a “care center” mindset into “a home for belonging.” The pilot phase shows early signs of improvement in children’s social skills, school attendance, and sense of safety and belonging.
